Mossberg 500a 12 ga riot gun, 2-3/4” & 3”

Found one at a pawn shop for $123. Had the 18.5” barrel and ribbed wood forearm. Dual action bars and it is as slick as greased ice. Good deal?

The older 500A's actually came with a factory 18.25" barrel... I bought one as a kit in 1989 (for $189) that had a full stock, pistol grip, 18.25" & 28" mod barrels, heat shield, and some other items. Still have it! Although the stock finally cracked and was replaced with synthetic. I shot somewhere north of 20k rounds through it and Mossberg replaced all the internals, free of charge, after the FP housing developed a light crack.
I cut down the long mod barrel to 22" and had it threaded for chokes... was a dream pheasant gun in SD!!

I bought one in a combo package from Service Merchandise
26" Mod chocke bbl
18.5 cyl bore with Heatshield
Piston Grip and Wood stock with pad.
in late 80's or early 90's Fro 199.oo plus tax
later bought a cut off 18.5 bbl at Gander Mountain in Corsicana TX for $20.00
I was going to shoot ball bearings but never got around to it. I did not want to screwup the original bbl.
I think you got a good buy.
