Importance of a Good Belt

Belts aren't as cool as guns or even holsters but - goodness - what a difference a real gun belt makes.

I'm fairly new to carrying and carry IWB. I've been "dressing" with one of the 1 1/4" belts I've had for years but yesterday I sprung for a 1 3/4" Galco gun belt. The thickness and stiffness makes all the difference in the world. Whereas I used to have to constantly adjust as I walked, having a stout belt makes my little 1911 feel rock solid.

If you're just starting out, don't wait as long as I did to get a good belt.

Worth the money

Couldn't agree more. I went through the same experience with old whimpy belts and decided I would spend the money on a real pistol belt. I'm not talking $60-$80, I found a very good 1 1/2 pistol belt at the Big Town gun show for less than $30. I couldn't believe the difference it made to my IWB carry and was amazed at how well it secures my OWB option.

Buy a good belt! Its worth it.

Since I'm usually wearing jeans anyway, I went shopping at Cavendar's and found a nice sturdy belt on sale for about $30 (they're typically $40-60 and up.
