A student pulled a gun out and shot two other students at a high school in southeast Maryland Tuesday morning before he was wounded himself, the St. Mary’s County sheriff said.

The gunman entered Great Mills High School in Great Mills, Maryland, at the beginning of the school day and opened fire, Sheriff Tim Cameron said. A teenage girl and boy were injured in the shooting.

The shooter exchanged fire with a school resource officer on campus and was wounded, Cameron said. All three students are in critical condition, but the officer wasn’t injured. It wasn’t yet clear who shot the gunman.
I guess Maryland school resource officers are willing to engage instead of cowering behind their cars like Broward Coward deputies.

The SRO was also a SWAT Officer. He wasn't placed in a cush job waiting on retirement.

This should take the wind from the sails of those who say schools shouldn't have trained and armed security.

Kyle Kashuv one of the Florida School shooting survivors who isn't spouting gun control (if you watch mainstream media you would not know who he is) retweeted the following from someone else. This story will die quickly in the media because it fails every narrative they want to drive:

Maryland gun control laws:
✅ Assault weapons ban
✅ Firearms registry
✅ Universal background checks
✅ Near-ban on concealed carry
✅ 10-round magazine capacity limits
❌ Prevented today's school shooting.

So one victim dead instead of the 17 in Florida. Because a defender was armed and could do something more than just stop the BG's bullets with his body.

Kid's are dying because the most effective and most obvious solution is not politically expedient to the left. They truly are despicable people who are willing to see our most innocent slaughtered to advance their agenda.

School Resource Officer identified:

According to the Washington Post, police have named Blaine Gaskill, a 34-year old St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Deputy, as the guard who fired at least one shot at the unnamed attacker; stopping the rampage before any fatalities occurred.
