Flooded Press

I reached out to Hornady last week about my Father in Laws press that was damaged due to the Flood last Summer. If we would have immediately cleaned and lubricated it I doubt it would have had any issues, but the reloading equipment took a back seat to all of the housing damage.

Hornady replied that they cover any damage related to workmanship but flood damage would not be included.

Out of curiosity I contacted Dillon and asked what they would do had my Dillon presses flooded. They said if the lever would still push the ram they would rebuild the press at no charge. If it was not able to move and if the press was not insured or underinsured they would give a 22% discount on a replacement.

I thought it was interesting.

If it is not fully covered by insurance, then make sure you write this (and all other) flood damage off on your 2017 income taxes. The floor is only $500 for casualty losses related to Harvey.

Dillon is top notch... most reloading suppliers are great, but Dillon is top of the list, IMO.
