I did not know this gentleman, but this note from his obituary caught my eye:

Always interested in gun collecting and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, he was an avid supporter for the right of the American People to keep and bear arms, a right he felt was being severely threatened by the fascist regime of our Politically Correct times.
