So at least it won't be so hot when I get my license..

The weather cooling down is about the ONLY positive thing I can come up with when I realize the application I just mailed off won't be returning in the form of a license for at least a few months.
Ugh.
That's of course considering there's no problems.
Life needs a fast-forward button sometimes.

The time will pass before you know it. They are processing in 30 to 45 days right now. Besides,

it will still be hot in September

You can say that again, Houston seems the hottest in September.

Okay then I will make my positive thought be that Flounder season will be closer, then.
A guy has to be creative with these things.
Plus, there's nothing better than stuffed flounder sometimes.

Got my CHL application off in the mail today (9/26). Should be back I'm hoping around Thanksgiving, though my CHL instructor mentioned there's a big backlog of renewals right now being processed, and there are reportedly only 4 people who do the data-entry for CHLs in Austin for all of Texas.
So maybe more of an early Christmas present.
I finished my class 9/15, but didn't mail it off today because my record is not 100% squeaky clean. Had to chase down court records from 3 counties, which took some time.
I used my Bersa Thunder .380 on the test, scoring a 244 out of possible 250. Not bad--my shots started to stray a bit at the 15 yard mark, where I got my one "3" and several "4s". Hard to believe we had people NOT pass that test, but there were a couple just shy of the mark.
I've gone ahead and bought Bianchi IWB holsters for the Bersa Thunder .380 and my Taurus 651 snub Revolver. Nice. I have a paddle holster for my M1911A from Rock Island Armory, too.
At least with the cooler weather I can hopefully wear a jacket or blazer coat and start carrying almost immediately. Gonna have to get an ankle holster for next Spring & Summer, though, at least for my work clothes.
Texas heat & humidity presents some unique conflicts of concealment versus comfort...

I was in a similiar situation to yours and thought my application might take extra long because I sent in some "documents" and figured my application would require a double-take from the people up in Austin.
Apparently it didn't. I got mine just about in average time.
Six weeks ain't so bad!

Update:
I got my plastic in the mail today, three days after the status switched on the website.
Exactly 45 days from the day when I dropped my application in the mail until I received plastic.
Whoohoo.

Still waiting on that prognostication about status switching date/time. I'm sitting right at 2 days to go from it being 90 days since I put my original app. in the mail box. Sure could use a little Nostradamus action.
BTW Congrats on getting your plastic. I'd wish the plague of fleas on you as well but the last time I did that I began a cascade of events that ended with a private chastisement.

It's funny, but lawrnk isn't lying - he predicted my status switch almost to the hour. Kinda funny.
Good luck on your own!

I believe I believe.....prognosticate me too. I need an oasis of hope in this desert of despair.
