Retirement toys

Post by Sidro »

Since I have retired I have time to chase gun deals posted on forums during the day. I will pick up a Beretta A400 Xcel KO 12ga this weekend. I am currently rigging out a Ruger RPR in 6mm Creedmoor. It will be topped with a Vortex PST gen II 5-25x50 scope with 1500 yd Kenton elevation turret. Will test rifle with Hornady 103gr precision hunter and 108gr eld match ammo to see what it likes. I just might be able to get comfortable with this retirement thing.

When do you pick up the Corvette?
God, grant me serenity to accept the things I can't change
Courage to change the things I can
And the firepower to make a difference.

Picked up the A-400 Xcel yesterday and it is a beautiful gun in excellent shape. Doorbell rang about 8 am this morning and an ex employee of mine had a couple of guns for sale. Bought a Ruger GP-100 .357mag with 4" bbl in excellent shape. Scope is mounted on the RPR, boresighted and ready to go. Have some 108gr Hornady match on hand and will start with it. 103gr Hornady precision hunter will be in later this week and will also try it. Would post a picture of all 3 guns but I just cannot figure out how to do pictures.

Let me know how you like RPR 6mm. I hope you get a good deal on it. Let us know how does it shoot? BTW, where do you shoot?

I'm looking for a BMW R1200RT on which I will openly carry my S&W M&P M2.0 9mm 5inch FDE in a black Safariland 7TS ALS holster at 3 o'clock. My other retirement toy will be the Ket-Tec Sub2000 M&P 9mm in the top case.
