Plus he was only attacking a Republican, they are not a protected, class, in Commiefornia. But if he had attacked, a heroin addict, defecating in the street while shooting up with a government supplied needle, they would have thrown the book at him.

Because the victim is a white, male, heterosexual, conservative. If he had been a gay, female, liberal, person of color, it would have been attempted murder.
