For those of you that are "Horsepower / Racing Inclined" there is the upcoming Austin SpeedFest at COTA (Circuit of the Americas) November 2 - 4.

Here's a teaser video:

https://youtu.be/mfT5bFxnDyg

Their will be vintage and new cars both on-track and on display. I recommend bringing hearing protection.

Why am I posting this? Because I have a vested interest and it's always great to have folks root for someone they identify with... :biggrinjester:

My vested interest: this race weekend will be the debut of #59 (my new TransAm Series TA2 race car). The car is just being finished up, I'm literally on pins and needles! Unfortunately, due to a business obligation, I'm going to be in Japan but we have the hotshoe Dillon Machavern (from both the IMSA and TransAm series) piloting #59 for COTA - I'm hoping my wife will be able to livestream it for me!!

More info, schedule, drivers list, etc:

Race schedule: https://svra.com/wp-content/uploads/201 ... DULE-1.pdf

Pics of the #59 Manufacturing News Magazine Chevy Camaro "almost" finished....still needs some finishing touches (series/compliance stickers <---a LOT!, headlight stickers, driver, etc), but you get the idea...

Nice. What kind of cost would be involved in pro 2nd Amendment decals? Perhaps TSRA? Or TexasCHLforum? 😀

Thanks, y'all!! One of my wrap concepts was going to be red, white and blue...would have been nice to incorporate the Constitution in there as well! But wifey made the choice...!

Yes, a very clean shop - TRB Autosport / Derhaag Motorsports out of Shakopee (Minneapolis), MN - where the team/car is based. A top-rated shop/crew!!

Thank you, striker55.

BItter Clinger: nice C5 Z06! regarding COTA - I’ve got a few races under my belt there over the past few years, it’s definitely a fun place!! I’ll be back there in December instructing the PDS for WRL, bringing my gear just in case there’s an open seat during the races...driving my ‘17 C7 Z06 down to do a few hot laps as well, will be my first time in a street car at COTA, should be fun...but not as much fun as a race car...gotta do Japan, I’m the only industry media going so that’s a solid thing there...looks like my pro debut will be next year, hopefully at the first TA2 race of the season: Sebring!!

Ready to go on the trailer!!! Heading to COTA on Monday...!!

Neat article with a mention of the #59 Manufacturing News Camaro…..a snippet below:

"Veteran fans of TA2 competition will have the pleasure of seeing the previous class victors Gar Robinson, in the No. 74 74 Ranch Resort Chevrolet Camaro, and Dillon Machavern, in the No. 59 Red Line Oil/ Manufacturing News/ TRB Chevrolet Camaro, back in action this weekend. While Robinson, the 2015 and 2017 TA2 champ and native Texan, will be flying his home colors of Robinson Racing, Machavern enters as a familiar face in a new place, racing with TRB and, for the first time in Trans Am, behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Camaro."
