STUPID no better way to say it

This has to be the most STUPID thing I have ever read in my life. I figured it to be the Onion, but nope, this is a real story.

A liberal activist said that a woman who defended herself against a man who was threatening her with a gun should have let the man rob her as opposed to shooting him dead.

And there you go.... A good insight to the Liberal, snowflake, gun hating mind.... They just don't make any sense do they... Hard to reason with someone who is so out of touch with reality...

The writer is of course free to act according to his opinions when he is robbed. However, he will suffer less snowflake melting stress if he can acclimate himself to the fact that there are others with a firmer grasp on reality who think differently than he does.

I've had conversations with people who claim that they would rather be killed then to defend themselves with lethal force. I say "claim" because I wonder if a life threatening situation actually occurred whether they would have a last minute change of heart. I asked one mother if she would prefer to have her children killed rather than trying to defend them and she exploded at me rather than answering my question. We were having a discussion on school security.
I'm actually fine with whatever these people chose in making survival choices - FOR THEMSELVES. What I do not tolerate is them pushing their choices onto me, under the guise of "protecting society.". That is the reason that I've been given. My not having the means of self-defense protects society while failing to prosecute and incarcerate those with proven histories of violence is an act of charity. I specifically asked why I was a greater threat to society than a recidivist felon and was told that I had no heart. It is no wonder that so many are victimized Some seem to be just looking for a place to be a victim.

Yes... That does seem to be the prevailing modus operandi of todays liberals....

I can actually respect a truly pacifist mindset like this. As said above, I only take exception when they push their viewpoint onto me. Just like I would never say that someone MUST carry a gun and MUST use deadly force to protect themselves, I have no patience for people who say that I MUUST NOT do such things.
True story from this past weekend. My wife was at a casino in Louisiana and was robbed while cashing her ticket at a machine. A guy just pushed past her, grabbed the cash and bolted. Since he was stupid, like the typical criminal, he stayed in the casino. Casino security cameras being omnipresent, security quickly tracked him down. My wife insisted that she did not want to press charges as long as he gave the money back. I would have pressed charges in her situation (actually I hope that I would have avoided her situation by exercising better SA, but that's beside the point here). Anyway the guy was lucky. If it was me, he would be facing charges. With her he won't have to worry about having an additional charge on his record. She was thinking about his future and how he might have a better chance at turning his life around if he didn't have those charges to deal with. I would have been thinking more about the safety of his next potential victim. Is my wife a better person than I am? Or am I the better person? Who knows. We just view the world differently in some ways. And we try not to force our world view on the other person. It seems to be working out so far.
Of course, I did have a serious talk with her about SA, but that seems to be a lost cause with her.

He's since deleted the tweet and apologized. Still anti-gun, but he's taken that critique down.

Modern "liberalism" aka progressive socialism is a mental disorder.

I have had similar conversations. Fortunately, most of them have been civil, with each party respecting the other's viewpoint -- and understanding that nothing said or done is likely to change the viewpoint on either side. An example of what I will call the pacifist perspective was one comment that essentially said that no person's life is worth more or less than any other person's -- regardless of the behavior or actions of each. I challenged with the scenario of an unprovoked violent attack against them or their children, and was met with the same statement justifying (in their mind) failure to defend themselves or their loved ones.

I despise any parent who has the attitude that they would stand by while their children are violently attacked. They are either delusional or lying to protect their snowflake/leftist indoctrination beliefs.

I will gladly meet death before I let you meet harm - Will Smith (speaking to his son). I've made the same commitment to each and every one of my children.
I have a hard time understanding parents who do not feel the same way about their children. But there are plenty of bad parents out there, unfortunately.

Zack Ford (the liberal activist) wrote: "The penalty for theft is not death, nor do we want it to be.”
This was not theft. This was armed robbery. Theft is when someone steals your property without interacting with you.
In this case, the perp put a gun in her face. The woman was clearly defending her life.
And yes, Mr. Ford, the penalty for threatening someone's life can be death. It is reasonable and appropriate.

Maybe Zack Ford (the liberal blogger) has been watching too many Gillette commercials.
