Score 3 for the good guy. Homeowner apparently battles with 4 Invaders, comes out on top. 3 dead, 1 wounded, several dozen shots fired.

The local NBC affiliate is reporting the 4th has died. It must have been a heck of a shoot out. At least 40 "evidence" markers (bullet casings) were outside the house.

Yeah either the homeowner had 30 round magazine AR, or was able to swap magazines in a handgun pretty quickly. Or the home Invaders were shooting back. Or all the above.

This belongs in the Self Defense forum.

My question is.... why this house? Were the BGs driving down the road and said "oh look, let's hit that house"

This is saying 5 invaders, 3 dead, 2 wounded. That's a lot of home invaders.

You don't get many misses with that many invaders and a small magazine.

News is saying 5 Invaders and 2 people in the house. That explains more of the amount of bullets. Especially if it was a full on gun fight between all 7 people. My guess is this is going to turn out to be gang related. There's no other reason for 5 people to pick a house in that particular neighborhood just as a opportunity. That whole area is very ghetto and very low end, there's no other reason for somebody to invade somebody's house unless they know it is a drug dealer or rival gang member.

A neighbor told KPRC2 he saw two men with big guns enter the home as others pulled up, so he went inside and then heard gunshots.

From the link in the post above. This was not a random attack. Homeowner may have a good self defense claim, this time, but there is a lot more to this story. Stay tuned , same bat-time, same bat-chanel.

And wow... if the attackers had rifles, even if he also had a rifle... that homeowner has some skills, luck, or both.
