Anti-Gun bias is destroying people’s faith in journalism

Well worded article regarding the widespread "activism" in the legacy media:

Political bias is destroying people’s faith in journalism

"...one-sided reporting has undermined the credibility of the press."

Nowhere is legacy media bias more evident that against the 2nd Amendment and our god given right to keep and bear arms.

I love how Lara finishes her statement "No one owns me...We are free because freedom lives in us."

Press / media credibility is determined by advertising dollars, not journalistic integrity. As long as people keep clicking or tuning in, advertisers will keep funding the propaganda.

What do most of the major advertisers have in common with the message as employers? They operate their business as gun free zones, and most fund liberal democrat campaigns and PACs.

Thanks for the link. Enjoyed reading the article!
Back in 2016 I watched CNN's coverage of both the RNC Convention and the DNC Convention. I was amazed at the negative tag-lines they had below the RNC speakers--surprisingly none later below the DNC speakers....hmmm. Then I watched "journalists" aka political hacks Van Jones and Don Lemon weigh in. The political bias was patent and obvious.
Sadly, big media is cutting back journalist and editor jobs from what I have heard. Not a good time to go into journalism as a major if you are in college. So, that does not help the problem either.
Not watching so you send a message to the advertisers as suggested above does not necessarily help. I hear CNN continues to get poor viewership (thanks to Jeff Zucker and top management) compared to other outlets such as Fox yet the advertisers at CNN keep pumping out the commercials.
Anyway, I have stopped watching CNN and long for the old days of Lynne Russell and Headline News.

I personally boycott all MSM and as many of their advertisers as possible. In fact, I have not read an American paper or watched American news (except for very occasionally OAN) in 25 years for the same reasons listed in the original post here.

I think that journalistic bias has already destroyed that faith in journalism. I don’t think that faith will come back for a LONG time. It isn’t going to be enough for journalists and editors to simply quietly practicing journalistic ethics. They’re going to have to issue some mea culpas and apologies, PUBLICLY acknowledging how far short they had fallen, and for how long, and with a promise to do better going forward. They are also going to have to each establish an office of an ombudsman to field complaints when bias is published, and then immediately address it - front page - on the next publication date (for print media), or on their website’s home page within 24 hours.

They’re going to have to have complete transparency going forward. Just as the SEC requires financial reporters to disclose if they have a stake in the topic of their reportage, ALL political reporters and/or editors should be required by their corporate management to divulge their voting patterns or party affiliations, and any other relevant information, at either the top or bottom of every piece of theirs that is published. Granted, the SEC requirement is a legal one, and I don’t think that the political requirement ought to be a matter of law. It ought to be a corporate requirement. And those news corporations that refuse to require that of their political reporters will become quickly known as the National Inquirers of political reporting, and demoted to 2nd or 3rd tier in the public mind. Those that cooperate with the standard will become the new trusted news sources. Then let the market play out.

THAT is what it is going to take for the Democrat Steno Pool (AKA “the media”) to regain the trust of the the majority of The People. Sure, they can obfuscate and blame shift, and refuse to accept any accountability for the situation; and they can also continue sliding into irrelevance.

The choice is theirs. I don’t give a crap one way or the other. They are my enemy.

While not bias, there also seems to be a lack of basic research done by media before publishing a story. See below

I've flown in excess of 80 different types of aircraft and have found this to be the case in almost all of them!

Something simply MUST be done!

Over the years, I've come to believe that our #1 enemy is not the Democrats or Republicans or anybody else: it's the media. You look at the way they slant public opinion, steer elections, and ultimately steer legislation that affects out personal lives, and it's almost frightening. Like the Ocasio-Cortez hoopla, recently. She is a NOBODY, yet she's in the headlines every day, every time she speaks a word. Why? The media; she's a media-manufactured product. If she weren't a ratings generator, she wouldn't exist.

Sometimes we're appalled when we look at how some foreign governments, in varying degrees, try to stifle freedom of the press. Oh, the horror! Unthinkable! But when I look at where we've been going the last couple of decades, well, sometimes I wonder....

The news media in this country has been "in control" for MUCH more than a couple of decades. They have been running this Nation for at least the last half century.

Hard not to agree with the thread subject while sitting here in a restaurant downtown waiting for lunch and MSNBC is running a pro gun control story. Apparently they have a new definition for assault rifle: “A military rifle capable of providing a large volume of fire with reasonable accuracy. “
