7.62 x 25?

Is this ammo available, or is it like finding Sasquatch? :-)

This ammo is commonly known as 7.62 tokarev and like much of the former Soviet Block ammo, is pretty widely available and cheap from the bulk importers. Maybe you wouldn’t find it at Academy, but ammoman has it. I have a CZ52 Tok that I bought with my C&R FFL that takes it. Fun ordering a handgun online to be shipped to your house... :evil2:

The same guy I got it from has a couple still unopened sardine can like ammo boxes full of the stuff. Probably a few thousand rounds at least. So if I need it Incan get it cheaper from him than anywhere else. Also if I buy the brass he will load whatever I want .

It will for sure come with me every time I go to the range. I've heard she puts out a fireball that is unlike anything else, and quite the noise too.

He's had it since the early 00s I believe, this and a 9x18 Makarov that I had a choice of. While both rounds are somewhat odd, the 7.62 appealed to me more. It's a hot little round, makes a brilliant flash of light and quite a boom.

The Mak is like the Soviet version of the .380 acp. Tokarev is much cooler. You’ll like it. :coolgleamA:

I have two Tokarevs, and they are stout. I read a ballistics report on that round; it said the Tokarev will go through both sides of a Kevlar helmet, and through the two lowest grades of body armor. The Soviets knew how to build killing machines.

Yes, the Russians had plenty of practice on the Nazi's. The Russian winters helped immensely also.

Make sure that you clean it with a water based cleaner if you shoot old military ammo as it is corrosive primed. Unlike the Russian version it holds one more round.
