How To Renew LTC Starting In September?

If I remember correctly, the bill that waives the fee to renew your LTC and your DL is waived if you have CPR training. How will we be able to renew without the fee going forward if we have the training and proof of training? I always do my renewals online. Does this mean I will have to go to the local DPS office to have the fees waived?

I suppose you'll upload a copy of your training certificate, just like we do supporting documents now.

How much CPR training do you need? I do the basic CPR training once every 2 or 3 years where i work and they give me a wallet size card to carry. Is that enough or are you talking about some kind of more involved training?

All I know is from the bill.
https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/86R/b ... navpanes=0

(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this subchapter, the
department shall waive any fee required for the issuance of an
original or renewed license under this subchapter if at the time of
the application the applicant for the license submits to the
department satisfactory evidence that the applicant:
(1) holds a current certification in cardiopulmonary
resuscitation issued by the American Heart Association, the
American Red Cross, or another nationally recognized association;
and
(2) is not required to hold the certification
described by Subdivision (1) as a condition of obtaining or
maintaining employment or an occupational license.
(b) For purposes of Subsection (a)(2), "occupational
license" means a license, certificate, registration, permit, or
other form of authorization that a person must obtain to practice or
engage in a particular business, occupation, or profession.

That's pretty clear. If you are not required to be certified and you get certified then your Drivers Licence and LTC are free.
