Saw on Twitter they’re reporting 30 injured, 2 shooters ,one in a Toyota truck and the other in a USPS Jeep.

Multiple people have been shot in West Texas after at least one suspect hijacked a U.S. mail carrier truck and started to fire indiscriminately, Odessa police say.

Midland police said they believe there are two shooters in two separate vehicles.

Odessa police said one person "hijacked" a U.S. Postal Service truck, while Midland police said they were searching for a second vehicle -- a small gold or white Toyota truck.

Both police departments encouraged drivers to get off the roads and stay indoors.

Just heard over the scanner in Seminole at 5:08PM that all DPS troopers in the area are en route to Odessa and that the SO has been tasked to handle their duties (like auto crashes) in the county.

People ask me sometimes why I carry such a big gun/so much ammo/multiple guns/out grocery shopping/in sleepy west texas...

At this point, every shooting that involves more than one person and a white guy is called a mass shooting and their attempted justification for disarming all Americans.

You know what just makes me livid? For kicks I like to check out the coverage on MSNBC. It is a know your enemy kind of thing for me. They are already pumping the gun control narrative over this shooting. They use phrases like "here we go again". But what they won't do is say one word about the 50 people who will be killed on the streets of Chicago during the labor day weekend.

I’m sure they won’t mention the Muslim terror stabbing attack in France either.

Kinda surprised no one has shot back yet, after all this is Texas.

FOX News says a Trooper was shot and there are 5 dead. 20 plus victims, but not all were shot. It appears they will give an official news conference soon.

Sounds like no one had a chance - the suspects were basically shooting out the windows as they drove through various places (one of them driving a stolen mail truck). I wouldn't return fire under those circumstances.

One of the local Midland/Odessa TV stations, News West 9, is a repeat offender when it comes to showing an anti-gun bias. I am banned from posting to their facebook page after pointing out that one of their "news stories" on 'gun safety' had been printed over three years earlier by and that the original story had been debunked as being paid for by the Joyce Foundation. I did commend them for correction the grammar and punctuation issues found in the original. I suspect they will use this to try and make a name for themselves and their staff on the national scene.
