Which 1911 Sights

I've got a Colt 1911 70 series that I love to shoot, but my old eyes are having trouble picking up the sights. It has the original sights, no dots, just a post and a v sight on the rear. I'm thinking of putting some fiber optic tritium sights on it so that I can see them better. For the experts here, what sight do you recommend? And will it lessen the value of this gun to change the sights?

The above are my favorite next to the XS Big Dot Sights. Bigger and brighter for me.

Another vote for the Trijicon sigths with the big orange ring on the front post. Those are the sights I use. Easier to pick up the front sight when your eyes aren't what they used to be.

Never seen better sights on a 1911, and a few others as well, than Novak's. For a series 70 that'll probably mean some dovetails will have to be cut. And, of course, tritiums are available.

I have Tru-Glo fiber optic with tritium inserts on my P12 front is green backs are yellow They are fantastic!

Well we do have our individual preferences, but the one thing I like with the Novak's is that they seem to know what the width of the front sight should be for a good clean sight picture and that front dot is easy to pick up. But, that could be a personal thing. Every 1911 I've ever fired that wore Novak's was about as good as it gets for my aging eyes.
My shooting partner put the Tru-Glo Fiber Optic/Tritiums on his HK VP9 and M&P Mod 2 - 5". They look good, but that's a bit more difficult to gauge because their triggers are . . . well, decent enough for striker-fired poly-frames. Shooting something like the Dan Wesson CCO that came with the Novak Tritiums, and an excellent trigger of around 3.5#, that does make a difference.
You might also want to be aware that if something goes wrong in installation and a sight has to be replaced. Tru-Glo does not sell them individually so you'll have to buy the set, front and rear. If in doubt, get them installed by a gunsmith.

With rare exception, these are the sights I run on all of my semiauto pistols. You won’t be disappointed if you buy them.

I tried, but they won't fit the gun I am trying to fit. It is a 70 series 1911 with a front post.
