Missouri state law allows adults to carry guns in the open, so the new law reclassifies the parks and recreation facilities as child-care facilities, where guns are not allowed.
This will get overturned, but the 16-2 vote tells you the makeup of the St Louis council and the lengths the anti-gun folks will go to in an attempt to disarm the legal carriers.

An outdoor park is a child care facility? They allow rattlesnakes, scorpions, fire ants, and grass burrs in their child care facilities?

Not surprised....the city of St. Louis is a cess pool of progressive socialists. Different departments of the city government competes to see which can be the most corrupt.

I'm more curious about state laws and regulations regarding child care facilities. Some lawyer is going to have a field day with this. I'm sure there are rules about staffing etc.

The St Louis murder rate is 66 per 100,000. Worse than Mexico.
So yeah unarming honest people in City Parks sounds like a great idea to make the Parks safe for honest people to visit and bring their families.

One of the things they missed is that Missouri Revised Statute 571.107 state “Any portion of a building used as a child care facility....” as prohibited for carry, so they didn’t even look close enough at the law to understand where the restriction existed. Think I may go to St Louis and see if I can make a little money for unlawful arrest.
