Very sad with no easy solutions if there are any solutions, all we can do is attempt to mitigate the losses.

Thing is you can't prevent crazy people from doing crazy things! We use to put them in an institution for their care and the safety of everybody! Can't anymore! LEOs can't be everywhere, I carry a gun because some are crazy and others are just criminal!

This site alone has over 20K members if I’m looking at correct info. Let’s say on average each member here has 4 guns. So 80k guns roughly on this one forum alone, or close to 4% of the total guns in Canada

typical fake news. Even when I lived there, estimates were much higher.
https://thegunblog.ca/facts-stats/
"
15-20 million. Guns owned by individuals.."
even the Federal Justice dept quotes larger estimates:
https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/csj ... _4/p2.html
"In total, it is estimated that about 3 million civilians in Canada own firearms."
"On average, firearm owners possess approximately 2.7 firearms (Angus Reid, 1991:6). "
"Available estimates for Canada indicate that private individuals collectively own approximately 7 million firearms (Gabor, 1997:3) "
