If you've been wanting to buy a portable generator (under $3k) or cool EDC flashlight, this coming weekend you can avoid the sales tax.

Think this tax exemption for emergency prep should extend to firearms and ammunition as well as chainsaws. You need to be able to clear debris as well as protect yourself and your property during a disaster.

Wonder if that applies to PPE?

Nope. Specifically excludes masks and gloves...and toilet paper. ;-) There are a number of exclusions.

We also need to read the fine print. All but three kinds of items have to be below a $75 price tag, and that amount includes any handling and shipping costs. There goes the impulse Cree flashlight purchase I was thinking about.
