Serena Williams lays it out

Hmmm. I've always been into tennis, and never had a lot of respect for Serena Williams, especially after some of her tantrums on the tennis courts. But she made a statement recently that kicked my opinion of her up a couple of notches:

I’m sick of COVID-19. I’m sick of black vs. white. I’m sick of Democrats vs. Republicans. I’m sick of gay vs. straight. I’m sick of Christians vs atheists. I’m REALLY sick of the media. I’m sick of no one being allowed to think what they want & feel what they do without offending someone. I am sick of the nosey ass people who call the cops when anyone does anything they don’t approve of. I am sick of blaming the whole for the sins of a few.
We’re one race—the human race. You want to support President Trump? You do you. It’s your choice. You want to support Biden? Fine... also your choice! You want to believe in God? Okay, believe in God. You want to believe in magical creatures that fly around & sprinkle fairy dust to make life better? Awesome... you do you.
BUT stop thrusting your beliefs on others & not being able to deal with the fact that they don’t have the same exact mind-set as you. Having our own minds is what makes us all individual and beautiful. If you can’t handle the fact that you may have a friend that has opposing views as you, then you are not any better than the bigots and the racists. I don’t have to agree with everything you believe to be a decent human being & your friend

Amen. What she said! We can disagree, but we do not have to demonize and attack those with whom we disagree. I am a male, Christian, straight, of British and northern European ancestry, with conservative political and social views. Do not attack me for that and I will not attack you for your beliefs. We can discuss, we can debate, AND remain civil with each other, At the end of the day, we are all human beings and all of us (in my belief system) are created in the image of God. Most religions and other rational belief systems have a similar tenant to "Treat others as you would like to be treated." As a very famous person once said, "Come, let us reason together."

wow, egg on face. A lot of people are thinking this is "the" Serena Williams. Guess I'll take back those two notches.......

If the tennis player had said those things it would be all over the news! And she by now would have been forced to apologize and retract.

They can't. People need to wake up to the fact that the Left doesn't see us simply as the opposition - we are their mortal enemies. We're in a knife-fight and most are still trying to be polite and reason with a deadly attacker.
And by the time the polite people realize it’s a knife fight it’s going to be a gun battle.
