Re: Beretta Storm PX4 SC WARNING

Yes, I know the pin should not be totally removed but I found it difficult to feel or hear that second click. Therefore, if you miss the second click the pin comes completely out.

I have read that others fail to hear that second click and the pin is removed. Seems to me the gun should have been made so that pin cannot be removed, ala Ruger.

What happened to mine was the slide flew off after I fired it. The gunsmith said the retainer spring broke and he could not fix. He also said the gun is sound in his
words "It is a good one!!"

I like the gun, and the capacity it holds. I will try my hardest to be absolutely careful when I break the gun down. Some say it is ok to fire 500 rounds through it before taking it down.
I usually clean my guns after each trip to the range.

My Ruger P-89 my daughter had for a while and went to the range numerous times, fired 100s of rounds and never cleaned the gun. It was cleaned for the first time when I got it back
a few months ago. I did not know she never cleaned it till I broke it down. Still functioned flawlessly!!

Now, I have to figure out the trigger on this new Beretta. I fired about 200 rounds today and am shooting low on all the targets. I know it is me because I got the guy next to me to try her out
and he consistently hit the center 4 inches.

Re: Beretta Storm PX4 SC WARNING

Beretta customer service is really terrific. I sent my PX4 Storm SC to Missouri they decided it could not be fixed and sent it to
Beretta. They received it on 7/19 and 7/25 I had a new replacement. I think that is superb!!!

I will take the gun to the range tomorrow and shoot it. Hopefully it will work flawlessly like I expect a Beretta to perform.

Re: Beretta Storm PX4 SC WARNING

I was just called by the repair shop. The gun cannot be fixed and they will be sending me a new gun.

The retaining spring broke and it is molded into the gun therefore they cannot repair it.

I did nothing wrong!! I was getting to think I did.

I was told by the repair shop that the process should take a couple weeks to a month but I will be receiving paperwork directly from
Beretta. My serial number will be replaced by another serial numbered gun.

I asked the repair shop "off the record" his feelings about that model gun. He said unequivocally it is a good gun. Keep it and use it.

The repair shop does repairs on many different manufacturers so he had no reason to bull me.

I was thinking that maybe my age may have reached a point that I could not even clean my guns properly.

It is a little inconvenient to me but at least they will take care of the situation.

Re: Beretta Storm PX4 SC WARNING

I have to wait till the shop tells me what the problem is/was. I am now thinking that the problem may have been my own doing.

hopefully that gun is fixed and I can use it.

They did say that the retainer spring can break. Hopefully that is all it is. I really like that Beretta and Beretta is a quality company. that is why I
bought the gun in the first place.

Now it is just wait and see.

I received an email yesterday from repair shop. They were responding to my email. They have not yet received my gun [will be there today or tomorrow] in their email they
stated that the "retainer spring" has been known to break and it can be easily fixed if that is the problem. They also added that this is not a common issue.

So, they used the word "spring" as well. Yes, if they fix it and I can cycle a couple hundred rounds without frailer I will keep it. I like the gun.

First I heard of the spring. Good to know but following the takedown instructions I never heard or even felt that second click.
I wonder why they made it so that the pin can come out all the way? :headscratch Many others have had the pin come all the way out.

Anyhow, what is done is done. I will wait to see how it comes back. The takedown was a very sensitive process right from the getgo.

Re: Beretta Storm PX4 SC WARNING

I do carry the Glock 27 and have been for a couple years. I bought the Beretta because I liked it, it is concealable and has an external safety
and decocker features I feel more comfortable with.

Now that I have the Beretta I want to get it fixed and it gives me the choice for another carry gun.

Re: Beretta Storm PX4 SC WARNING

I sure hope they fix it!! I sent mine to a shop in Missouri. I am keeping your link in case the shop there does not know how to fix it. I suspected it was a defective take down pin.

Anyhow, I am keeping my fingers crossed. I will call the repair shop tomorrow and get with them. Thanks!!

I really am hoping that the gun comes back fixed. I will then take it out to the range and fire a couple hundred rounds through it. If it stays together with no further issues I will then begin to
have faith again in it. I really like it, that is why I bought it. Conceals easily and has all the features that I like to have in a carry gun. Originally I was about o purchase a bunch of Winchester +P
JHP and fire it through that gun and see how that ammo functions. I was then going to take it to the local gunsmith and have Fiber optic/night sights put on it. Now I ill have to hold
off to see how it functions when I get it back.

My first thought was to sell it as soon as it comes back but after some thought I would really like to give it another chance.

Do you like yours? Do you use it for carry?

The guy behind the desk did tell me that I had to package it because they could n and make sure it was not loaded. I asked if there were any other declarations he said "NO!!"

All I want to do is get that thing to Missouri. Never shipped one before and had to ask for instructions. I contacted the repair place asked them how to hip it. they told me to put it in a Fed Ex box and send it.
I checked with Fed Ex and they told me how and gave me the box etc. I filled out the address label and they filled in the rest.

If there is anything else wrong with that gun/shipment I really would rather not know. It has
been a nightmare for me the past 2 days.

Re: Beretta Storm PX4 SC WARNING

I told them I was shipping a firearm. I told them I wanted to have it there by Monday. They gave me the price of $60+ dollars. The guy there suggested to me
that I send it 3 day for $26. That is all I know. I have never shipped one before and asked them and they gave me the instructions. The only requirement was for the gun
to be unloaded and no ammo in the box.

Below is the email I just sent off to the repair shop. Someone asked how come it only cost $26 to ship. I sent it 3day. 2 day would have been $60+.

Beretta PX4 Storm SC 9MM
From:Charles Ventimiglia <chuckventimiglia@sbcglobal.net>
To: customerservice@midwestgunworks.com

Yesterday I sent my Beretta PX4 SC to you via Fed Ex. The estimated delivery date to you is 13 July.

I enclosed a note in the case with the problem I have. The gun is less than 2 months old and the take down pin came out
while firing and the slide came off. I did not check the slide for any damage when it came off and hit the table. Can you please
do so and if any finish came off can that be restored? If not that is fine as well, I just would like that gun fixed ad in working order.

You will receive the gun assembled with the take down pin in place.

If you move the slide back and lock the pin will fall out. You can take the pin out while the gun is in the
firing position.

I have found a few others on the internet that have had this very same problem. Surprisingly Beretta has never heard
of such a problem. I will call the corporate office Monday and speak to them.

I really like that gun and hopefully you can fix it and return it to me in a condition that will restore my confidence in
that gun as my CCW.

Re: Beretta Storm PX4 SC WARNING

I sent it Fed EX 3 day estimated delivery is 7/13. I took the gun to Fed Ex in it's carry box. They gave me a Fed Ex box, and I put it in the Fed Ex box. They said $26!!

If I would have sent it 2 day they said it would cost 60 some odd $$

That is all I know.

I hope you do not have this issue either. It is really disheartening. About your problem above. I have had nothing but trouble with Monarch ammo. It is really dirty, I have had numerous FTEs, FTFs
as well as numerous times the gun would not lock back after the last shot. I think your problem is the ammo. I fire WWB, PMC, MagTech and never have had an issue to the extent of the problems that I had
with monarch ammo. I think the lock back problem may be due to QC issues of the powder loads. I was told a couple years back by the local range operator that the gun blew up using
Monarch. Cannot verify it but that is what the range master told me. I have never bought or used that brand again.

Yes, it happened to me yesterday. The gun came apart!! I sent it out yesterday to the MidWest Gun Works in MO. I saw that thread yesterday
while researching if there were any similar problems. I found that and others concerning the same model.

I think it is a model wide defect. I called Beretta cust. service and they never heard of that problem. I have the number for the Beretta
corp. office and will call them Monday. Cost me $26 to send it via Fed Ex. I will probably lose that $$ as well.

If the gun came back "fixed" would you trust it anymore?
