I like that idea. Don't go on a second date with her. Offer to take her to the range as a friend. It would be even better if you bring along a woman who shoots to (a) show that women and guns do go together and (b) make it clear it's not a date.

She's a friend to some of your friends, so accepting the olive branch seems like the right thing to do. It's even more so if you no longer have any romantic interest in her, because there's no ulterior motive.

Hey, hey.....not always now....the car my company provides me is a Prius. I don't think a liberal has ever even ridden in it (if there are any liberals where I work, I've either never met them, or they've never let on what their politics are).
