Took my class and completed application February 16th. Got fingerprinted, and mailed in the CHL 100 & 6 March 12 (First appointment I could get with Morpho which is two hours away). Return receipt says they got to Austin March 15. No update on website through this morning. Called DPS, and talked to the amazing Dan everyone is so high on. Yep, they have my docs.....in the mailroom 
! When might I hope to see that they have actually been entered? Better give it another month 
And how long to actually get the license? With all the apps they are processing, two more months at least. Unfortunately, there is no emoticon for a man jumping off a tall building. Hopefully I will actually get my license before it expires. I understand budgets, I understand high volumes of applications, but seriously! 4 months to handle an application? And we're paying good money for this! Give me one good reason the DPS couldn't handle this the same way they issue a DL. Are the people in Austin really that specially qualified. If you can't tell by now, todays call left me feeling a little frustrated.
