Well, you have to meet certain criteria for them to do the scanning deposit thing. Since I don't have a credit card or other qualifying third account in addition to the banking and insurance through them, I can't do the scanned deposit thing. The cards they offered last I checked didn't satisfy my qualms about having a credit card (short grace period, fees, adjustable interest rates, etc.), so I can't meet the criteria they need. But for most folks, it's quite convenient and easy to use. I'm still quite satisfied with my membership there, and would recommend them to anyone who is eligible and doesn't do a large amount of cash deposits. The insurance rates cannot be beat, and the company exists solely to benefit their membership rather than to make profits from them. It is very close to a cooperative in the way it does business, down to the dividends it gives its members at the end of the year.davlanders wrote:They only do checks/money orders for deposits, but you can scan them in online and your deposit is IMMEDIATELY available. And on the topic of Wells Fargo, I have had my share of bad experiences with them. From screwed up accounting to unhelpful service, they lost my business years ago. They swallowed up the bank I was using as a teenager, and promptly changed their fee schedule and started charging more for everything. I'm still trying to figure out why they think I owe them hundreds of dollars on an account that I closed several years ago. It would not surprise me if they posted 30.06.
