HPD's current policy (except those grandfathered in under the old policy) requires individual purchase, .40 cal, with decocker.
(as per my 20 yr. veteran HPD Sgt. brother whom I just got off the phone with)

From what they showed in the video (which I can't find), the 3 fire fighters' body language didn't indicate an emergency. They were walking calmly from house to house. When they got to the one in question, 2 stood calmly on the patio while the 3rd kicked the door and stuck his head inside.

Gainsville Fire Dept.

I'm sure we all send our deepest regrets to those who lost lives and property in N. Texas in the past few days. However, in watching KHOU TV in Houston this morning I saw a video clip that really concerned me. It showed three young Gainsville Fire and Rescue personnel going door-to-door, I assume ch...

Their website does say wholesale, but if you give them a call they'll take individual orders.
Maybe I read about them on the other concealed carry forum I go to. I forget since I get so much good info off both sites.

Waiting for my Looper Kydex

On many of your reccomendations, I ordered a Looper Kydex belt this past Friday. I was told it would ship out Tuesday and that I should have it by the end of this week. I'll keep y'all informed on it's performance. It's to go with the Don Hume J.I.T. that came in Wednesday. The holster is great with...

I'll have to try that one! I'm a teacher, and my students would love it. I'll throw in, "Yeh, it fits in my hand better, and it comes in my favorite color, black."

Deep concealment

http://www.gunnersecurity.com/holster-shoulder.html
Anyone tried one of these "deep concealment shoulder holsters" from Gunner Security or a similar model? I'm debating between something like this and a tuckable IWB, realizing the tuckable would make a much faster presentation.

Combat Handguns Magazine

I thought about picking up the latest copy of Combat Handguns magazine yesterday and scanned the front cover for contents. Every gun test listed was a .45 cal. I have nothing against .45s, they're just not my cup of tea, especially 1911 types. Is this getting to be trend with CH, or has this general...

Warn your wives. That's a classic purse snatching move. I see women all the time in the grocery store and such with their backs turned to their purse in the cart, or even 10-20 feet away down the aisle. I guess I should start saying something politely to them, but that would depend on my perception ...

I had a LA permit, but when I moved back home to the Houston area I got a UT permit to save time and money over the TX permit. I've been pulled over once while carrying in a tiny SW Houston suburb, and handed the officer my driver's license and UT CFP at the same time. She asked if I was armed and I...

"Quigley Down Under" is one of my favorites. He shows total control and class, refusing to just be a hired gun. I love when he duels with the bad guy at the end and says, "I never said I didn't know how to use a pistol. Just said I never had much use for one."

Exactly. To bypass NICS requirement in TX, you must have a TX CHL.

I think that would definitely fall into the category of "terroristic threat." If your employer didn't immediately notify police/FBI/Homeland Security, etc., then ask him how big of a law suite he can handle. I agree that if you go to work and there's not a bunch of LEO around, go h...
