Chas.
Cruz gave support to Hillary tonight. Not among voters who think, but among those poor muddle-headed undecided souls who neglect to look closely at politics even though they suffer the results of their own shallow thinking.

It's ironic. It would take tragic political topology for me to vote for Cruz in a primary because tonight he lacked the conservative integrity to work to keep Hillary out of office.

But if he is a future Presidential nominee he'll count on my conservative integrity to keep socialism out of the White House, voting for him even if I didn't support him in the primary.

There were nice things in Cruz's speech, though. As I was making ready to run an errand, he was making his statement about the Second Amendment. Overall, Cruz ripped his pants, but it was nice to hear affirmation the firearm that accompanied my walks this evening is not a work of evil, but a powerful implement of freedom in trusted hands. Makes me work all the harder to justify Jefferson's dreams.

Re: Republican Convention: Cruz supporters planning trouble?

I voted for Cruz in the primary because I'm adult. My inner adolescent wanted to vote for Trump just to give elitists a good thumb in the eye.

Now, my inner adolescent is much quieter. We're past the jab in the eye to Karl Rove and company. Now it's America on the line.

There are many ways to vote for Hillary. Abstain, vote for Hillary, vote Green, vote Libertarian, those are all votes for Hillary.

There is, at this point, only one way to vote against She Who Must Not Be President.

If that doesn't make sense, consider there are two kinds of people (at least) who want to take away your guns and mine.

Some people want nothing other than to leap through meadows in pursuit of butterflies, who genuinely just want everybody to get along and think if we would just voluntarily declaw we'd stop scratching each other to bits. They are good people completely wrong, but at least they base their follies on good intentions.

But those are the sort of good intentions paving the many highways to places very bad.

The butterfly-chasers aren't much of a threat to freedom except for one thing. They are tools of the other kind of gun-grabber.

The hypocritical Diane Feinstein who got a handgun license when she thought it was in her best interest but would block anyone else's access to self-defense. Michael Bloomberg who harvests Moms for their money and their numbers. Hillary Clinton, whose views on the 2nd from behind her phalanx of armed security can't be mistaken.

The high minded opposition to guns by the butterfly chasers is impractical and leaves them ripe for picking by more hardened and deliberately evil forces. Their gently ignorant support of true evil is a threat to us all beyond what the butterfly people could imagine.

To any conservative who wants to sit out the Presidential vote for high principle, I hear you, brother. But you're ripe for picking. The wickedness Hillary may twist your good intentions into may surprise you.
