Shot with my Bersa Thunder 380. I think it is too easy. I think the X should be 5 points, and you drop a point per ring, so 10 ring would be 4 points, 9 = 3, 8 = 2, 7 = 1, green = 0, paper = -2, off target = -5. Can keep the same 175 to pass. Stationary shooter, stationary target, neither moving, known ranges, and on a well lit range. Practiced a month beforehand after not having shot for around 15 years, and got a perfect score with a fairly small pistol. At that point my only shooting lesson was my stepdad telling me, "Line up the back sight with the front sight, and cover up what you want to hit." which I learned when I was a kid. If I can teach myself to shoot a perfect score it is too easy. The problem is doing that would push people away from getting their LTC. Plus you'd need to changed the level 3 security guard shooting qualification to match since they use the same course of fire and scoring system.
