I received this response this morning:sjfcontrol wrote:Well, I emailed DPS, and 48 minutes later had a response!Crossfire wrote:Seems you need to call Deadra to find out...sjfcontrol wrote:It would be nice if they explained what they plan to do with those that responded to their "error". "The CHL-90 is not required for renewal instructors. Notification for renewing went out in error. Instructor will not be required to apply until 6 months prior to them expiring. We will advise you of the renewal process closer to your actual renewal date sometime in June/July".

My email...Their unsigned response...Dear DPS,
It seems that DPS is saying that they sent out the instructor renewal notifications in error earlier this month.
How is DPS going to handle those instructors (like myself) that started the process, and paid the fee, based on that notification? Also, we are being told now that the CHL-90 will not be required, even if listed on the barcode page. Is it necessary to send in this page if the CHL-90 is the only thing listed on it?
Yes…at this time we are still finalizing the renewal process for instructors. Do not email, fax or mail anything into the department as of yet. We will notify you all on what will be required.
Renewal Instructors are not required to complete the CHL-90. The department has tried to have that form removed from the renewal checklist. At this time we are still finalizing the renewal process for instructors. Do not email or mail any forms in to the department. Notifications will be mailed out as soon as the process is set up.
Thanks,
