Re: The never ending wait

I logged on to check my status late last night, just after midnight, and saw no update. I logged on this morning, on my 92nd day of wait, about 7:45 and saw some glorious new options laid before me.

S T A T U S C H A N G E ! ! !

Now to start stalking my mailman! Thanks for all the support friends! I'll report back once plastic hits my palms.

Wow! Just minutes after reading your post, an employee from State Rep Dawnna Dukes' office called me to follow up. He said he'd rattle the chain and have someone in DPS management look into my application and call me back, or else he'll call me back and rattle the chain further! Maybe I'll get some satisfaction! :txflag:

Re: The never ending wait

zimmerdesignz wrote: sweatmachine, you call yet?
No, but I did email Greg Abbott and every state rep I could look up. I also emailed RSD/DPS to see if they could expedite my app, per another poster's (suspicious) suggestion. Can't hurt.

I'll report back if I hear anything. Don't hold your breath. Haha.

I'm just a few days behind you, at 80 days today, and still nothing on my end either.

That's very surprising, the 2 times I have spoken to him he was very helpful. :???:

My statement means he is helpful.
Reading comprehension! :clapping: :hurry:  :

Today is day #70 of wait for me. Come on DPS/RSD!

Re: The never ending wait

You can also order Alien Gear holsters on Amazon. No wait time if they have your model in stock. I got the Cloak Tuck 3.0 for my G26 in 2 days. The cost was about the same when you factor in free Prime shipping.

How do you like your Alien? Which one did you get? Cloak 3.0 or ?????
I've read that the Alien holsters have to be
(broke in 2-3 weeks) before they are one of the most comfortable hybrids available.
I've got a Cloak 3.0 and don't care for it for my Glock 26, but I also ordered a shell for my LCP to see if a lighter gun will make it more comfortable. The LCP shell will be in the mail tomorrow.

I'm not used to it so take my review with a grain of salt. From the limited carry I've done in my house and for my body type, I think I prefer appendix carry over 4 o'clock carry. I'm just not comfortable with my gun behind me. I feel like it's printing and easy for a thug to grab. That's why I prefer appendix carry for now.

The Cloak 3.0 seems like a decent enough holster, but I'd recommend adding loctite to all of the fasteners once you've got it set up how you like it.

I have a SmartCarry holster I like. It works with my G26 and my LCP. I've just ordered a Lenwood Specter for my G26.

Fortworth86 wrote: I know it's just frustrating to be told "it should be done in a couple weeks" then calling back two weeks later to be told my hasn't even been processed and I'm looking at 6 more weeks just to process my app. I paid them to provide a service, the least they could do is tell me where I'm really at in the process
Solution: Stop calling in. That's where I am with it.

Calling in will only frustrate you more. They have your stuff. It'll show up when it shows up.

Re: The never ending wait

Take a look around the forum. We're all in the same boat, getting the same bull non-feedback from them. I'm at 64 days with no news.
