Last time I went, I was carrying my carry gun in my pocket. I unloaded it while in the car. I too was looking for a holster. Got to the check in table, pulled out my gun, handed it to the LEO who inspected it and zip tied it and gave it back to me. Neither he or I gave it the first thought that I was conceal carrying then pulled it out of my pocket.
That was at the Ft.Worth gun show at Will Rogers.
All the gun shows around have you make sure it is unloaded and then show it to the guy at the door with the slide locked back. As Joe stated, they will zip-tie it and you can reholster and go on in. Most don't want you to have a mag with ammo on you either.
