Yeah, gotta love the old techniques of Hollywood or otherwise. Yep, my favorite irritation is the "slide racking, hammer cocking" of a gun when simply pointed at someone/something. Apparently it's necessary in the movie or TV to prove that the actor is serious about the threat.
