Thanks for the advice. I'll look for a 1911 disassembly video on youtube tonight and try this out.

Llama IIIA pistol help
I need some assistance. I have a Llama IIIA that I got as a gift. Its a nice little pistol, and a sweet shooter, but it has one minor problem. The thumb safety does not work. (For those who don't know, it is a .380 1911 clone). The grip safety works fine. You can place the manual safety in the on position with the hammer cocked, just like you are supposed to. However, when you have the pistol in a firing grip and squeeze the trigger with the safety on, the safety drops and then the hammer falls. If you do not have the grip safety depressed, the manual safety does not do this.
I figure one of you 1911 gurus might be able to help me out on this. I know didd;y about 1911 style pistols, although I did just learn how to field-strip this one. Anyone have any ideas?
