Re: LCP Recall

03Lightningrocks
I didn't think you were bragging, from your post I thought you were thinking we were starting a bashfest...I just wanted to make sure nobody thought that was going on. My apologies for the poor way of saying this.:cheers2:
That's okay, 03Lightningrocks, it was more of my poor way of saying things... I meant it to be for encouragement, that I was sure they will get it back to you all as soon as possible. That is the problem with communicating with written word, you can not tell what the other person is feeling when they write the words. I try hard not to say something stupid...like my post...I just never thought of it being taken wrong. Thank you for pointing it out to me, I will try to be more careful in the future. :cheers2:

Re: LCP Recall

Sorry, I did not intend for it to sound like I was bragging and I do not owe Ruger anything, they can speak for themselves.

I sincerely apologize, 03Lightningrocks, and to the whole LCP owners, that are still waiting, I did not mean it to antagonize you in anyway.

Thank you, and good night.

Re: LCP Recall

Congratulations, Glen, on finding a good deal on your LCP and welcome to the forum. We are very glad to have you on board. I just got my LCP back from Ruger a couple of days ago and I am glad it is back home. I haven't had a chance to get to the range to try it out yet, but I am looking forward to it.

TheArmedFarmer wrote:Strange. My package went out yesterday (from me to Ruger) but today the UPS website says:
Type: Package
Status: Returned to Shipper
Returned On: 12/18/2008 10:27 A.M.
Signed By: RALPH
Location: FRONT DESK
Returned To: PRESCOTT, AZ, US
Service: NEXT DAY AIR
Weight: 2.00 Lbs

Returned to Shipper
UPS has returned the shipment to the original sender's location because it was unable to be delivered. Please see the tracking detail for more information.

What should I do?
Contact the original sender of the shipment directly to have it reshipped, to make alternate arrangements, and/or validate your delivery address.

I don't know why they are returning it to me without accepting the shipment. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.
I am sorry about that ArmedFarmer, that does sound a little strange. Maybe the web site just messed up...we can hope anyway.

Good Luck!

Re: LCP Recall

CHLSteve wrote:I've been considering purchasing an LCP for myself.

1. Is is "safe" to buy one right now? Meaning, any that are available will be post-recall?

2. Anyone know of any current stock or inventory in Houston?

3. Or if anyone here wants to part with theirs.... ;-)
Hi, Steve, I am not familiar with any gun stores in Houston, but the following information on the Ruger site tells you which ones are affected by the recall.
How to determine if your pistol needs the retrofit: All LCP pistols bearing prefix “370” (that is, serial number 370-xxxxx) may be affected. Newly manufactured and retrofitted “370” prefix LCP pistols with the new hammer mechanism installed have been marked with a diamond in the flat portion of the slot just behind and below the hammer as shown to the right. Going forward, new pistols will be marked with the serial number prefix “371” (serial number 371-xxxxx). Pistols with the “371” prefix are not affected.

I hope that will help you out. Good luck.

Re: LCP Recall

Yea!! :thewave

UPS truck just drove off with my LCP, headed for Ruger. Thursday December 11, 2:30 PM. Will it make it back before Christmas? ...nah, I don't think I will hold my breath. But, I am just glad to get it sent off and in the works.

Re: LCP Recall

It took a little over a month before I received the box to ship back to Ruger. In fact, I only received it yesterday and it sits all packed up ready to go...now I am waiting for UPS to pick it up. I hope that will be tomorrow because with the holidays coming up I am afraid it will take longer to get it back. I talked to a Ruger representative yesterday and she said it would take 7 working days to do the refurbishing work on it and then will be returned with overnight shipping.

Re: LCP Recall

I'll tell you just how lucky I am...I just ordered one of the new "pinkie mags" from Ruger the day before I found out about the RECALL on here. :smilelol5:

You would think if we registered it with them when we bought it they would have sent us an email, or something. :confused5

Oh, well...two pinkie mags are better than one anyway. :thumbs2:
