Re: Leaving the room, FINALLY

Well, my timeline is convoluted, but I initially sent it in March 16th, here's the full story:

Anyway, it's been a long...long time.

Re: Leaving the room, FINALLY

Thanks much. Been a long time since mid-march.....but from what I was told, it looks like they're bringing the wait WAY down, or at least they have the initiative to.

Leaving the room, FINALLY

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm almost out of here. My card is being sent today from Austin! I wanted to thank you guys for all of your support in answering my questions and let you know a little something I found out. I know that bigbluedodge got alot of info from the DPS and already post...

Re: Interesting Tidbits I got from DPS today (yes on a Saturday)

I'd like to thank you for this post. I just got word that I'm getting my application in about a week, it just got mailed. I spoke with Judy who let me in on this same info, and she actually thanked me for contacting my rep. She said because of all of the involvement we have gotten our local governme...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

Well, to give an update: I hadn't gotten any response from my reps office since I sent them an email, so I called them back about a week after I sent it to make sure they got it. It would seem as though I happened to send my email on my rep's moving day and they were trying to catch back up with eve...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

So I finally found out some info today from Matthew at the DPS. He stated that all of my background stuff was done, all the info was entered in, and it was just needed to be sent out. He said that the last note on my application was on May 12th.... I then asked how much longer I could expect to wait...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

Yeah, just got off the phone with them and I caught what you said about the special need, I was just stating I couldn't come up with anything, lol. Anyway, so, I called, spoke with a guy who said that my background checks were complete and......nothing. I asked him what was left in the process and h...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

Dont' want to sound like the negative guy, but it sounds like you are partially at fault for not understanding the process, and you may have hurt yourself on this. In essence, you sent in TWO different applications rather than one. The application your receive from your CHL class is meant for peopl...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

Well, I'm not sure how much more help our reps are going to be..... So, I sent the email out and got a weird response from our Exchange server that indicated the email might not have sent. But I really didn't have it in me to write it all again, so I just called the number for my rep. (Jerry Madden ...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

So how long do you guys think I should wait for a response? I know he has a number to call, but that seems really over zealous. It hasn't even been 24 hours yet, but now I'm getting antsy.

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

Thanks guys. I have sent a letter to my state rep, so I'm hoping to hear back from that eventually.

The sad part is....I don't even have a holster yet. :grumble

Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

Hi guys. I've been lurking on this forum since I started this process, but just never really had a reason to post until now. Now of course, I need advice ;-) So, I completed my course at the start of March, and I sent in my paperwork on 3/16. Well, our instructor told us we could pay online, but the...
