I've got a little Jennings (Bryco, etc) J-22. The thing is notoriously reliable in its jamming. Only CCI Stinger and a death-grip on the pistol will keep it from short-cycling or attempting to double-load. Extraction has more to do with the blowback design of the pistol allowing the spent cartridge to push itself backwards out of the chamber than it does with the extractor actually serving a purpose. And no 6-round magazine exists that will feed more than 4 or 5.
But once you get accustomed to the gritty trigger, spotty reliability, tremendous noise (oh, did I forget to mention that?), and useless sights, the gun is actually somewhat accurate. It's quite capable of putting 5 rounds rapid-fire into a two-inch circle at several paces (I don't remember the actual distance but it was at least 7 yards). While this isn't stellar by any means, it does demonstrate that the pistol can be effective, if used properly.
I never carry my junk gun, nor do I even shoot it anymore. I just keep it around as an example of the type (and also because I'd have to pay someone to take it off my hands ).
Yeah, but I can throw rocks that accurately.
More reliably too.
