I received it via email from our HR director, an NRA member who had some derisive comments about it.
It makes me feel so much better; I know you would feel better too if you read it. It deals with how to respond to a shooter in the workplace.
Among the pearls of wisdom fom the professionals at DHS :
Hide.
Run away.
Lock your door.
If none of the above are effective, you can escalate your response by:
Throwing things at the shooter.
Yelling at the shooter.
Personally, I think they left out:
Talk about his mama and make him cry.
Have a "dialog" with him and make him your friend.
This DHS brochure makes me feel so much better.
If you think I'm joking, I'm not. I'll try to figure out how to do a cut and paste on it. I can't seem to get the normal C & P to work.
Google is your friend.

The booklet si not completely wrong. See this quote
"As a last resort, attempt to take the active
shooter down. When the shooter is at
close range and you cannot flee, your
chance of survival is much greater if you
try to incapacitate him/her."
But they also have gems like this one:
"Your hiding place should:
• Be out of the active shooter’s view"
Note: Yes, that was copy and paste from the pdf file. Left click where you want to start the "cut" and then drag the pointer while holding down the left mouse button until you highlight the sections you want to copy. It should be highlighted blue. Then right click on that area and select copy. Go to where you want to "paste" and right click and select "paste" .
