All that quibbling about 30.06, gunshows, and "effective consent" is kinda dangerous. You may be right, but if you test that, you'll have to pay $$ and convince a jury to prove your cause.

Me, well... any gunshow that'll post 30.06 ain't gonna get ANY of my money. They can check guns for sale/trade/showing off, as those aren't personal defense pieces, and have no business being loaded while they're carted about. Conversely, my carry gun has no business being out and handled unless I actually intend to use it. Keeps NDs down, you know.

But no one's gonna tie my carry gun, and no one's gonna take my ammo, not at a gun show. If they can't/won't deal with folks who are actually armed at a -gun show-, then they don't need my money. It's akin to a car show confiscating your license and keys at the door.

One of the local gun show organizers has a sign. "Carrying concealed? KEEP it CONCEALED!" I'm in full agreement. I go to that show every chance I get, and have never witnessed nor heard of an ND there. Everyone assumes everyone else is armed, and no one handles untied guns.

It seems to me that I hear of NDs more often at shows where "all of the guns have been checked," even the carry pieces, than I do at CCW-friendly shows. Wonder why?
