What good would it have done to attack the soldiers at Walter Reed (not meant to irritate)? They are already wounded. The doctors arent fighting in the IZ either...ATT. He did however limit the ability of some units that are on their way to fight.

Coastie, that's exactlywhat I thought when I first saw it. Why in the world would he stay in? He could've retired on a good pension then gone on with the rest of his life, and be rid of the "abuse" he claims to have received for staying in. Criminy, he was only 39!

edit to add: I just saw the rest of you sentence after the work "retired". Yeah, quite likely.

The military has decided it is much more politically acceptable to take casualties like this than run the risk of a ND by one of its armed soldiers or visitors.

I thought about posting this comment a couple of days ago then decided against it, but I've reconsidered.

How many more Americans will die because of "political correctness" being an overriding factor rather than the safety and well being of not only our service men and women stationed worldwide, but also of all the citizens of these United States?

I am deeply saddened by this.

Just reported on WFAA, channel 8 in Dallas: Yesterday morning before he went to work, he gave his next door neighbor food from his refrigerator, a copy of the Koran, and told her he "wouldn't be back". She didn't think that was unusual as she knew he was being deployed, and thought that he was leaving yesterday.

My God, this is terrible. My thoughts and prayers also go out to the people who were murdered and the families.
