Re: Jan 2010 applications
Hi causeican, welcome to the forum! Glad to have you with us.
When you checked online, you probably checked the Instructor's application half of the page. It's at the bottom. The place where new CHL's to check is up at the top.
In any event super congrats!

Re: Jan 2010 applications
Coolo! Congrats to all! When you check the website and see "Application complete. License Issued or Active" you'll know that the license is in the mail to you, and will be only a matter of days when you get it.MojoTexas wrote:Update from DPS: The license is being printed. I received an email stating that license is being printed and should receive it within 1-2 weeks . I check my status online and it says that "application processing"
YES! Website still says, "Processing Application," but hopefully I should have my plastic in my hand soon! MojoTexas
Mine changed to "complete" on a Monday, and I received the license 2 days later.

They might be a forum member. I think we'll know if somebody comes on & says "hey! I got somebody else's license! What gives?"jmdevera wrote:man thats got to be heart breaking. its hard enough to wait especially when everyone else is getting theirs...nairb wrote:Its for someone in Bedford, so I don't think it's yours.

Re: Jan 2010 applications
Last summer when DPS was just totally overwhelmed with applications, someone would get the notice on the website that an application was "complete/license active" and it would take 2 weeks to get it to them. Everyone wondered why, and no one could provide a reasonable explanation.Done. Man I sure hope that its just really slow getting here. I don't really want to wait for this issue to get resolved and have to be put into another batch to sit and wait for a new license...
I thought it might be due to when the license is put in the envelope for mailing, it is then sent to the mail room, where it sat for several days before being mailed. So the license shows up in the computer as technically "issued" it still was, in fact, still sitting in the DPS mailing room. It's just a theory, and I've nothing to substantiate that theory. But to me it kinda makes sense.
I hope you get yours this week!

Re: Jan 2010 applications
Tonight would be a good time to email them and let them know you haven't received it yet. Be sure to include your full name & address, TX D.L & Soc.Sec.#. Then do a follow up call tomorrow.jmdevera wrote:still not here and was complete on 2/2/10. i live 20 minutes outside of houston in league city. at what point should i be concerned that it was lost in transit? what would be the procedure?
You should have it by now. It took mine 2 days to get to me after mine changed to "app.complete. Lic. active or issued", and I live in Arlington.

Re: Jan 2010 applications
Wow! And you're going to go shoot that thing? That is truly a collectors item.
I collected WWII German pocket pistols, and U.S. military shotguns back in the 70's & 80's. I had a mint Astra 300 with proper markings that I'd be carrying today...if I still had it.
But I know exactly where you're coming from! Congrats on a suuweeettttt pistol.

Re: Jan 2010 applications
Depends on the length of time it takes the mail to get to you from Austin.SYMWAFA wrote:Thanks for the congrats guys! Now, the 10 billion dollar question is: How long til the license gets here? I'm guessing within a week.
Seriously though, you don't see that message until the license is going out in today's mail.
BTW, what part of this great State do you hail from? And for something completely different. Belgium proof marks?? Is it an FN licensed by Colt? Or is it a Belgium contract Colt? (I tink I about to learn someting)
