Love the comment.

Then I thought about it. Oh, most of that is locked up at high schools. In order to pull the fire alarm you have to pretty much destroy an expensive alarmed plastic cabinet that has been placed around the fire alarm pull station to prevent you from pulling it. (easily)

You will trust a teacher with the sheltering, feeding and training of your child but won't trust them with their protection (except as fodder)? If they are trustworthy enough to care for a child, they are trustworthy enough to train and arm.

The same with LEO's, if they are trustworthy enough to carry a firearm almost everywhere (secured areas of jails excepted), then why are they not trustworthy enough to carry when they fly. 9-11 may not have happened, or at least been greatly mitigated if the LEO's on board had been allowed to carry.

If a parent is trustworthy enough to have passed a background check, trained and be licensed to carry a firearm, then there is no place that they shouldn't be able to protect their loved ones.

I know, I know....preaching to the choir here.
What I find interesting, people do not understand that almost all good people are good people all the time. Anti gun people somehow seem to think that if you have a gun, you change and you will do evil things.

Next time you are in Walmart or Target go by the housewares section. You will see hundreds of lethal knives just sitting there on the shelf for any one to come and pick up and mass murder.

Voluntary teacher or administrator CHL is the perfect solution to this problem. My only caveat would be the gun must be carried on the person not in a purse, backpack or briefcase.

He is in the "we will wait for SWAT to arrive, we do not want any of our police entering the school building out gunned, if we can avoid it"

"Even if teachers were trained, they may not be prepared to come face to face with a school intruder who is armed with an assault weapon, said the chief.

"I would not want any of my trained police officers to go up against someone with an assault rifle with a handgun if they could avoid it, because you're outmatched," said McClelland."

I feel so much better now, after hearing this from my Police Chief.
