I am also scratching my head at why they charged him so quickly. It could have been because there is something else known that has not been released yet or they did it preemptively to avoid riots.
There is one specific answer to this question, but it will not come from my typing fingers. You will need to research it on your own.

However, it may be the video, as I understand three shots were fired after a pause. I don't know if this was with the victim on the ground or not.

No Las Vegas officers were arrested for shooting Erik Scott while he was lying dieing on the ground. But Erik Scott was not African American.

BTW the reason for so many hits vs misses in the officer's shooting, is not so much his skill, it is the distance he fired. It is hard to miss someone big coming at you and you start shooting at 10 feet.

Re: Charlotte police kill unarmed man who may have needed he

More similarities North Carolina State Attorney's office will prosecute the case

http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/da-a ... e-20307589" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The victim was a former college football player. 12 shots were fired by the officer 2 missed. The victim made physical contact with the officer as apparently repeated calls were made for him to stop.

Re: Charlotte police kill unarmed man who may have needed he

This story is building rapidly.

It was on Fox News tonight.

It has all the makings of a Trayvon Martin/ George Zimmerman case. In this analogy George Zimmerman instead of being a neighborhood Watch Captain is a Police Officer responding with his partner to a 911 call from a woman who says someone is trying to break into her house.

In the Fox story all the familiar cast of characters were there saying all the familiar things.

Big difference here the Police Officer was arrested in less than 24 hours after the incident occurred. His attorney who was interviewed said this was very unusual.

So the big question I have is: in the Trayvon case his blood test for drugs, if I remember correctly was suppressed, since it would, well I don't know why it was suppressed since, to me it spoke to Trayvon's condition. Here will the "victim" be afforded the same privilege, of hiding any drug use. To me being high is the only explanation for his actions.

On the bad side for the police officer, the dash cam video appears to show him shooting 7 shots pausing and then shooting three more.

Like Trayvon the "victim" was unarmed. The Police Officer was licensed to carry a hand gun like George Zimmerman. Unlike George Zimmerman the Police Officer was unhurt.

This is very near Washington DC so the press can get to this location very quickly.

Re: Charlotte police kill unarmed man who may have needed he

Survives a bad car accident, climbs through rear window to escape car. Goes to neighbors house but only scares neighbor who calls police. Never mentions needing help or car accident. Police arrive. Runs towards police in apparently menacing manner. Police taser man. Man never mentions needing help or car accident. Continues running towards police after being tased and is shot and killed.

Man's actions make no sense, unless high as a kite.
