That was back in the days with no toll tags and you had to stop or an alarm with lights and bells would go off as you drove through. :biggrinjester:

Hahaha... i googled to find her and found a better one. Check this out! 179K in tolls and fines. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/t ... 35675.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm betting you'd be shocked to find out how much of that was actual tolls, and how much was fines and fees.

True. They don't always communicate. At that point it takes a pic of the license plate and deducts the toll from my account. I usually see this at least once a month or so on my statement.
In my case, it didn't detect my leaving the airport the previous week when I dropped her off. When I re-entered to pick her up -- and subsequently left, I was charged for an entire week of parking. I've never experienced (to my knowledge) a missed communication. It was a DFW airport problem that they've admitted to.

We use the 121 tollway a couple of times and no bills. I get nervous and call NTTA and find out there is nothing under my name or address. A few months later I receive a bill for approx $18 worth of tolls and over $350 in fines and late fees. I get on the phone with NTTA and as I am talking to them, I notice the bill has the wrong name and address on it but the right car (how it ever found my house I do not know, I guess it had just enough information). I am arguing with them about it and eventually get a one time courtesy waiver and find out that the DMV had the wrong information. I go look at the title and sure enough, it has my first and middle name and a partial but incomplete address.

I had to call the DMV and get it all corrected. I guess the point is, the OP could very well turn around one day and have a bill from NTTA worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars by something as simple as a clerical error. Yup, pay your tolls but if you and even the NTTA can't find the information, then what else are you supposed to do.

FWIW, I bought toll tags for everyone in my household.
Toll Tags (or "Toe Tags", as my wife calls 'em) aren't necessarily a perfect solution. I was recently charged $144 for picking my wife up at DFW. Less than 30 minutes in the airport. Yes, I got it resolved.
