The issues in concealing a pistol are width of the pistol and the length of the grip, barrel length has little to do with it until you go over 4 ½ to 5 inches. I have large hands and thick fingers and on both the compacts and the midsized Glocks, I can only really get 2 fingers on the grip. On the 23 and 19 my little finger is resting half on the pistol grip and half on the magazine. On the compact 26 and 27, my little finger is either hanging off of the regular magazine base plate or on the middle of the extension that most people add.

The only real negative that I had with the compacts was the amount of muzzle blast with full powered ammo. Now that most ammunition companies are making rounds for short barrels that should be less of a problem.

I saw no real world difference in the accuracy potential going from the midsized to the compact. I think that most of the perceived increase in recoil that some people claim to see with compacts is really increased muzzle blast and slide velocity, the shorter the slide the faster it moves.

Depending on how you need to dress would be the determining factor for me. If you can wear shirts not tucked in or if you can wear a suit coat or Blazer, there would be no problem hiding either the G26 or G19.
Good analysis imho
I put the extended barrel (Lone Wolf) on the 26 so it's basically a 19 barrel anyway. solved muzzle blast with benefit of shorter blocky Glock slide
I like being able to choose 10/12/13/15/17/19/20 round mags ... for how I dress ... more choices with 26 than 19 by using the +2 +3 Pearce baseplates/extensions

The 26 handles better has basicly the same felt recoil and oddly enugh more accurate for me . also the 26 doesnt poke me in the rib cage. Teh only thing that requires any getting used to is shooting with a pinky under the mag. That also has never been an issue for me, but a have seen a number of people complain about it.
I like my 26 enugh that im thinking about trading my 19 off for something else.... but for now its got nightstand duty.
I resemble that

I had a Glock 17 Long, a Glock 17, a Glock 19 and a Glock 26

The shorter the gun, the more accurate I was ... I sold the 17 and 17 Long... carry the 26 and the 19 stays home.

Re: Glock 26 AND Glcck 19 question ?

I carry the 20 round mag and spacer in my Glock 26, so the grip is larger (longer), and the gun heavier (with ammo) than my Glock 19 ...

(Glock 17 mag with Pearce grip +3 extension model PG39)

I put on a blind marked Lone Wolf Extended (length of a 19) ported barrel on my 26 (not ported is ok too)
26 is easier to carry because the blocky slide is shorter than my Glock 19.... even with extended barrel & grip

I carry IWB. I'm not an ankle holster fan, tried them, disliked them. The only thing I'd ankle carry is a Seecamp, they are tiny. I owned 4 or 5 ankle holsters, never liked any, never wore any outside the house.... wasted money IMHO

--------

I experimented with mags, by adding +2 and +3 Pearce grips , a 10 round +2 +3; a 15 round +2 +3; and a 17 round +2 +3

Sometimes with a really thin shirt, I just carry the 15 +3 or 15 +2 or 15 round mag.... but that's really rare, I prefer 21 rounds ready to go (1 chambered too)

a +3 PG39 is about the size of a Factory Glock +2 base plate
A Pearce grip +2 is smaller than a Glock Factory +2 baseplate...
