Re: Houston Museum of Natural Science

...management there has explained to me that they do not have to follow same rules as a city owned building. They could be mistaken...
I think that they are mistaken. They could just as well post a sign saying, "no Chinese or cripples."

As we have discussed on this forum ad infinitum, there is no legal mechanism for demonstrating the error of their ways to them.

Re: Houston Museum of Natural Science

Agreeing with Jumping Frog, the key question is who owns the real estate. As far as I can tell the City of Houston owns the HMNS (and all of Hermann Park, where the museum is located). It is curiously absent from the HCAD database as a parcel of property.
I invite you to be the test case.
We need to push the edge of the envelope sometimes.

I've been to the HMNS and MFA and Miller Outdoor Theater and the zoo, sometimes more than one on the same day. I experienced no difficulties. Need I say more?

How do you know this?

The city web site lists the museum as an asset.

Re: Houston Museum of Natural Science

Welcome to the forum, Jaime.

Are you saying that the HMNS now has a sign that conforms to PC 30.06 in size and wording?

If so, in any case, it still is inapplicable because the city of Houston owns the property.

Re: Houston Museum of Natural Science

Owned by city. The last time I was there, granted, several years ago, they had only a "firearms prohibited" type of sign.

I used to spend quite a bit of time in Houston, not so much now for personal reasons. I literally never saw a valid 30.06 sign. Just a few obsolete or otherwise useless signs.
