Moderators, please get rid of this guy.Tecumseh wrote:So George Zimmerman did not disobey the police and put himself in a situation where he was forced to use deadly force? Now the rest of the nation thinks CCWers are just a bunch of wannabe cops thanks to that moron.

Re: Zimmerman is not guilty
Oh for God's sake! Give it up! There was ZERO evidence in the trial that Zimmerman pursued Martin. There was ZERO evidence in the trial that Zimmerman was stalking Martin. Plenty of emotional tripe from the prosecution? Yes. But ZERO evidence. Trayvon, according to the girl who was talking to him on the phone, was "right by his father's house" 2 minutes before the altercation began. He sucker punched Zimmerman at the T, almost 70 yards from his father's house. How did he get there? We'll never know, because his phone, which was in the custody of the state, "mysteriously" was missing the GPS data from that ONE DAY. Somebody erased that data, and it wasn't Martin. He was dead. And it wasn't Zimmerman. He never had possession of the phone. You figure it out. And why do you think that data would have been erased? Because it proved that Zimmerman pursued him? Please don't make me laugh.Tecumseh wrote:Exactly. Why did he pursue the boy? Was Trayvon standing his ground against an adult who is stalking him at night as he walks home from the store to get candy and soda while talking to a lady friend. Why did Zimmerman follow after being directed not to? It is shameful that the justice system failed us today.poppo wrote:The point was that a life was lost. Legal or not, GZ made some bad choices too. And even though he was acquitted, his actions will have consequences for him too. He may always have to be looking over his shoulder.gigag04 wrote: Somebody getting shot while pounding a person's head in the concrete is hardly a tragedy. Actions have consequences.
There was ZERO evidence that Zimmerman "disobeyed" the dispatcher (even though the dispatcher has no authority to give someone orders and would open the department up to lawsuits if he did). I watched/listened to a great deal of the trial. I can guarantee you that justice was served and the verdict was correct, just as it was in the OJ trial. (And yes, I watched that entire trial.)
The SYG laws do NOT give you the right to assault someone because you don't like them, because they are following you or even because they are pursuing you. SYG says IF you are attacked, you have the right to defend yourself.
