This is factually INCORRECT, I have been stopped and asked if I have my weapon prior to giving my DL or CHL to the officer, so it does show up in some form or fassion.

The correct question in Texas is not IFthe driver has a weapon. The correct question is: How Many, What Kind and Where Are They??
I generally have anywhere from 4 to 10 within arm's reach when in my vehicle.
