Re: Debate/Town Hall Meeting with Cotton & Grisham?

I would think Cj would want to do the discussion with Charles. He could possibly get his views on TV news coverage without cost to himself other than his time. I'd pay the $27 to hear their views.

I personally arranged for Grisham, Alice Tripp, and Charles Cotton to all have a discussion on the record regarding OC efforts last year. Charles and Alice were willing to work with them is Grisham/OCT cleaned up their act. Needless to say OCT instead went on to do Bloomberg and Dudley Brown's bidding by attacking the NRA and TSRA while crying "No Compromise". Grisham/OCT and others actively tried to scuttle HB910 and SB17 in an effort to promote unlicensed carry, when it became obvious that unlicensed carry was dead they jumped on board to support the Licensed OC bill and claimed it was their own.
That seems like an interesting summary consistent with behaviors I have observed.

NRA board member Charles Cotton doesn't want to debate Moms Demand Action, Coalition To Stop Gun Violence, Gabby Giffords, Michael Bloomberg, Everytown for Gun Safety, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Art Acevedo, Poncho Nevarez, or anyone else in the gun control astroturf crowd trying to strip our rights from us. He wants to debate ME. Speaks volumes about what has happened to that once great organization and a perfect example of why I'm so disillusioned with them.
CJ, I've debated countless anti-gunner over the last 35 years, but that's not the issue. What are you afraid of? Let's let Texas gun owners see what each of us truly stand for.

Chas.
You have wonderful patience Charles!

Re: Debate/Town Hall Meeting with Cotton & Grisham?

Open Carry Texas has changed to a "closed" Faceboook group. I guess they don't really believe in American rights and values. Their tactics are those of a fringe group trying to destroy established organizations while promoting themselves as a new group to "get things done." I'm sure the leader does not have enough conviction in his beliefs to defend them in a debate since he seems to want to hide his groups thoughts from the public.

This is meant with respect Charles, so please take it a such, but why in the world would you want to elevate any of them to your level or stoop down to theirs?

Hopefully next leg cycle everyone can either:

(A) Work together.

or

(B) Not trip over each other.
My purpose in proposing this is to let Texas gun owners who are involved see why the NRA and TSRA do things and to contrast that with the destructive tactics of Grisham and OCT. People need to flee from those two and work with organizations that get bills passed.

I want to show the world that the vast majority of Texas gun owners are not remotely like Grisham and his leadership. I also believe that most of OCT's current "members" will see the light and get on board with experienced and productive gun groups, if they are allowed to hear why things were done as they were. The only thing they see or hear is the filtered propaganda Grisham wants them to hear.

Chas.
Yes, we need to teach. Young energetic people need to learn the established ways of getting things done. I think they will choose correctly if given the chance to compare.

Re: Debate/Town Hall Meeting with Cotton & Grisham?

I am always up to seeing an intellectual discussion. If it is near Houston I would attend.
