:iagree: I've got a 27. As was said, the recoil is noticeable.

My hands are large enough that I needed to get extensions on my mags - you can get them as just extra length for your fingers or to give you extra capacity.

Another thing to check out .... within the same caliber, the magazines for the larger models will fit and function in the smalller models. You'd have to check yours out to be sure, but you could have the G26 magazine in the gun, and carry the G17 mag(s) as spares. At least it works with my 27.

Another FWIW, I've shot the .357 SIG version, and found that the felt recoil is noticeably LESS than with the 27. :headscratch But .357 SIG ammo isn't cheap.
