Re: Can you shoot someone in the back that turns there back
Pastor, one of the thing that was discussed in my CHL class was how we would react in diffrent situations. In the wake of the theater masacre it has got me thinking very deeply about these things again. It is not abnormal for me to process things that happen when I read about them in the news, but some things stir it up deeper. The reallity is, every situation is deffrent and you can never plan 100% for your response. The bigger question that remains in every situation is can I live with myself in the aftermath. On here we often will discuss things, and get diffrent respons on how someone would act. Never have I even seen a hint that people only want shoot, and most would rather want the police to hadel it. In the case of a stollen wallet, I would be very hesitent to give it up easiley. Not because i have any money in it, they would be lucky for $20.00, but my address is in there. I could not sleep at night knowing they have this and my familey is home. My primery purpose for me having my CHL is not to protect me, but to keep my familey safe. When a situation happens, often were are forced to make a decission based of what someone else is doing. One of my biggest prayers is never to have to draw my weapon in self defense, let alone use it. However, If I am forced to make that decision by someone elses choice then it is something that I feel is the only way.

Very gray area in the law. Their back being turned to you shows they are no longer agressing you, therefore not a threat. How ever they do have your property and you can protect your property. Can very easliy go either way. Me personally, my wallet is not worth taking a life, regardless of the law. They things you would be deling with the rest of your life mentally are not worth it.
