Anyone find it interesting (maybe even machiavellian) that enthusiasts themselves have more effectively undermined shooting (particularly handgun sporting and reloading) than any legislation I can remember? Hope none of the anti- folks are taking notes.
Any time the anti's want to deplete the ammo supply by buying me (an enthusiast) a nice stockpile, I'll be glad to take them up on their offer and give them a few more names as well. I figure the member list for this fine forum would make a good start.

Ahh the magic is they don't have to do much, or spend anything, other than create a scare and we self-immolate a sport. Ooooooooo.
I did find that Academy in Grapevine had some 380 this morning. But not for me.
The new Wally World in Garland off of Northwest Hwy. has about 20 boxes of Winchester 9MM, 2 100 round boxes of 9, 5 100 round boxes of .40, and a lot of Federal 100 boxes of .223. I didn't get me two boxes because they were taking their time selling a bunch of fishing lures and a fishing license. I had to get on my way to work. This was around 12:45 this afternoon.

You can call it undermining if you want..
But This year alone has already surpassed last year's CHL application numbers.
NRA Membership is up, people who never owned guns before in their lives are buying them and educating themselves.
Personally, this 'scare' has done nothing but good things for gun ownership as a whole, and bad things for those who oppose it.
It's even been good for the economy! The Gun business has been BOOMING in a time of Huge recession.
Well, okay, the ammo shortage sucks, and the prices are still high, but supply and demand dictates here. As the supply gets larger as manufacturers catch up, prices will go back down.. hopefully
Picked up WWB 9mm 100pk for 19.97 today at Walmart Westheimer and Dunvale. They only had two boxes left after I made my selection. Didn't have much of anything else.
it's socially unacceptable to be ahead of your time.

I paid $20 for 42 rounds of .40 S&W today, but I was just trying to make things a little easier for the kid that showed up for our CHL class with the wrong caliber ammunition for his pistol.
He was able to borrow/buy a box of .45 from another classmate, but given that he had no cash and was an hour round trip from an ATM, I decided to horse trade and try to make things a little easier for everyone.
If I had a gun for every ace I have drawn, I could arm a town the size of Abilene.

They only had 2 100-packs of 55gr FMJ .223 ($39 ea), so I snagged them both. Well, they had 3 boxes, but an older gent in front of me was on the phone to his son and I'm going "Nooo, the kid is going to tell dad to snatch all 3" - but he only took the one
